JOURNAL CONTENT
1. Name of journal
The official journal title is Research in Vestibular Science (abbreviated as Res Vestib Sci or RVS).
2. Website
The official website of our journal is https://e-rvs.org/. The RVS team endeavors to make a high-quality website with accurate information and adherence to ethical and professional standards. It does not contain any misleading information, including any attempts to mimic other journal/publisher websites. Information for authors and readers is described in detail on the journal website. Key information can be found by clicking on the headings below.
3. Publishing Schedule
RVS is published quarterly on the 15th day of March, June, September, and December. Additional supplementary or special issues may also be published.
4. Archiving

Authors can archive preprint (i.e., pre-refereeing), post-print (i.e., final draft post-refereeing), and publisher’s version/PDF.

JOURNAL PRACTICES
7. Publication Ethics and Related Editorial Policies
RVS adheres to the guideline of COPE (https://publicationethics.org), Recommendations of International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (https://www.icmje.org/recommendations). Our publication ethics are displayed on the Research and Publication Ethics and Editorial Policies tab of journal homepage.
The Editorial Board of RVS carefully examines whether all submitted manuscripts abide the ethical guidelines of ICMJE and COPE. The published articles should include the statements of conflict of interest, author's contribution, Institutional Review Board, informed consent, and human/animal rights.
In case the journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct, such as redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fraudulent or fabricated data, changes in authorship, an undisclosed conflict of interest, ethical problems with a submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and so on, the resolution process will follow the flowchart provided by COPE (https://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The discussion and decision on the suspected cases are carried out by the Editorial Board. RVS will not hesitate to publish errata, corrigenda, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.
8. Peer Review
All papers, including those invited by the editor, are subject to peer review. RVS uses a double-blind peer review process, which means that author identities are concealed to the reviewers, and vice versa, and the identities of the reviewers and authors are visible to decision-making editor throughout the review process. The editor selects reviewers based on expertise, publication history, and past reviews. During the peer review process, reviewers can interact directly or exchange information (e.g., via submission systems or email) with only an editor, which is known as “independent review.” An initial decision will normally be made within 4 weeks after the reviewers agree to review a manuscript. No information about the review process or editorial decision process is published on the article page.
All manuscripts from editors, employees, or members of the Editorial Board are processed in the same way as other unsolicited manuscripts. However, those authors will not engage in the selection of reviewers and the decision process. Editors will not handle their manuscripts even if the manuscripts are commissioned. All articles in RVS include the dates of submission, revision, acceptance, and publication on their article page.
RVS has an online submission and peer review system (https://submit.e-rvs.org/). Further details on peer review and peer review process can be found on the Editorial Policy (Peer Review Policy) tab of the journal homepage.
9. Access
RVS is freely accessible from the journal website (https://e-rvs.org/) according to the Creative Commons License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0). A free full-text service both in the XML and PDF formats is available immediately upon publication without embargo period.

Please request your waiver at the point of submission. To request a waiver, please contact us by email (rvs@e-rvs.org). The waiver status of the manuscript does not influence the editor’s decision, as editors are not made aware when a waiver has been granted. In addition, we declare that these principles acknowledge the responsibility of publishers and editors in promoting accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusivity in all aspects of publication. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, and should not be influenced by the authors' nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, or religion. RVS is committed to ensuring that its policies do not create an exclusionary environment and will regularly evaluate them for inclusiveness.
